ZAUM phonetic transcriptions (1908-13). Poetry is phonetic-apparition, language as such song. Vowels are alphabet's resounding strings, consonants the sonic strength of spirit. Khlebnikov fostered the magic-scientific meta-language ZAUM and therefore the game with phonems and rootwords of the Slavic language. Translation, be it lingual or musical, must do justice to such word constructions.
